Onward

Today was a big day.  We officially said good bye to Liberty and his killers were apprehended.  So, now what?

This website will be up for a while.

I intend to contact the DA regarding the conviction of Liberty’s killer.  To the extent practicable, I will update the site with the legal happenings.

Secondly, if you register, which many of you have, you will be able to post here.  I for one, would like to hear from people with stories about Liberty, silly memories, pictures or whatever.

To kick us off, I’d like to share a memory:

One hot summer night, like countless hot summer nights of my tweens, I found myself kicking around Phillips Ranch with the usual suspects.  For one reason or another, I always managed to have a cache of dangerous fireworks at my disposal.  This night we decided we would see what would happen if we threw an M-80 in Liberty’s (we called him Dirt) pool.  So after a number of spontaneous engineering marvels, we rigged the M-80 to explode at the bottom of the pool.  We tossed it in and waited.  I swear I felt a tremor as our bomb blew up.  Liberty’s mom rushed to the window and yelled at “Libby” asking about what just happened.  Liberty, sharp as tack, replied back, “Uh we’re throwing hammers in the pool.  Go back to sleep.”

I think that was the closest thing to a lie I ever heard Liberty tell.

God bless Liberty and his family. The news of this on Sunday literally shocked me to my core. I’ve been really affected by this and it doesn’t help every time I see it on the news, so I can’t even imagine how all of you must feel. He was such a great person. I haven’t seen Liberty and most of you guys since high school. But it’s good to know the type of great friends and loved ones he has with him.

I met him sometime 2004 and liberty his gf at that time usually visits me, since i was new in the country. I was shocked by how intelligent he was, this man knew alot of things. He cares about nature so much and i can tell he is a humanitarian at heart. He is very simple and humble and true. We went hiking one time with his friends which was fun. And one time i was having problem on my own his family welcomed me to stay in thier home for the night. His mom was very comforting, like him. You will really like being around this guy, coz he gets along with everyone.. no matter who you are. He is really like a family to me since he goes with us on family gatherings and even shopping sometimes, to see that we are ok.. he was a patient guy. One of a kind. Then years past i heard that he is doing his PHD in USD. I was at work when i saw the news, heard his name saw jake and the cousin and the mom. I was really devastated and I just said not you!! because i know in my heart that he has a lot of projects that he is doing a lot of good things not only for himself but also for the world. And i am glad to hear that they arrested those murderers. They have the option not to kill him but still they did, they just didn’t care. So selfish and mean people.

Everyone who knew liberty one way or the other would really grief for his lost.

To his family and friends, my prayers will always be with you.
