You can see Erik Aguirre’s attorney trying to spin this case. She refers to Erik as a good “kid”. He’s not a kid. he’s a 19-year old ADULT. The US Government puts weapons in the hands of men and women his age (and younger) and sends them to fight in the Middle East. If you are old enough to go to war, you are an ADULT.
The article states that Erik’s attorney said Aguirre is a good person who has never been charged with a “serious” crime. The fact that she included the word “serious” likely means that he has been convicted of “not serious” crimes. I guess most crimes are not serious when compared to killing another human being. Glad to see the Justice System working.
Where is Erik’s remorse? The closest I’ve seen has only been from his parents. We all know nothing can bring back Liberty, not even a harsh sentence. So what would make me feel better is to know that Erik sincerely feels remorse for what he had done.
It is sickening that the lawyer is trying to portray him as a kid. He’s young, yes, but legally an adult and more than old enough to know that you don’t hit someone with your car and drive off. To say he didn’t “know” he killed anyone is ridiculous. It doesn’t matter if he knew Liberty had been killed or not becaue he DID know that Liberty had been hit.
Fyi, contrary to the article, there has been no attempt by the Zoe church or the Aguirres to reach out and help the Jaswals, with funeral expenses or otherwise.
Some more info that is wrong with the article. Well, the foster kids that Erik supposedly helps out, are actually his brother and sister who were put into foster care. What a joke. The kids were living with Erik and his dad but are now in foster care, so I guess visiting his kid brother and sister constitutes volunteer work with children in foster care. And Erik’s family or Zoe Church has NEVER offered any sort of support to the faily of Liberty. What an abomination this whole ordeal is.
