Hi everyone, I come on this site a lot just to get updates….I’ve never written anything because I really don’t know what to say.  I get joy from hearing everyone else’s stories and memories of Liberty.  I guess I’m not really ready to share mine yet.

I visit the murder scene often, just to make sure the candles are burning and any rubbish does not litter where he lay.  I visited a few days ago with Ricky (his cousin, who was also there with Jake, Sunny, Tony and myself that night) and cleaned everything up, reorganized the candles, flowers and other tokens that people have left behind.  There was a lot of broken glass that we cleaned up, some of the candles had been broken….it really upset me because it looked like someone has smashed them…but for all I know something else could have happened….every time I get angry, I always think, what would Liberty say?  What would he do?  I didn’t know him as long as a lot of people here, I’m sure, but I knew him long enough and well enough to know that anger was not a part of Liberty.  And with those thoughts, we both cleaned everything up with our bare hands and made everything presentable for others who may come to pay their respects.

Jake, thank you for everything you have done to honor Liberty’s memory.  I can only imagine how difficult everything has been for you this whole time.  My thoughts go out to his family who have suffered so much….

Thank you to all of you who share your memories and thoughts about Liberty on this site.  This forum has brought a lot of people together and is helping some of us heal better than having to do so on our own.  Keep it coming!  :*)

    Dear Amma,

Thank you so much for taking the time to care for the murder scene and also for coming on here to post this tonight. It was important for someone to share another story and I’m so appreciative that you took the time to do it.

    Best wishes always, Jen
