Sentencing for Aguirre
Posted by Jake on September 9th, 2008 filed in libertyDear Friends of Liberty,
Today was the sentencing for Erik Aguirre. A guilty plea was entered by Aguirre for the following charges: second degree vehicular manslaughter (6 years) and fleeing the scene of a felony (5 years), for a total of 11 years, the maximum time for these charges. Aguirre will serve his time at a major state prison, which will be determined next month. Aguirre will also now have a “strike” on his record.
I think Liberty would be the first to say that the above numbers are in a sense, meaningless; that a human life cannot be measured in “time served”. However, with the things that a life can be measured in, Liberty certainly excelled at these things.
Yours, jake

The sad thing is that since he’s been in prison for a year already he has probably another year and a half before he’s out on parole.
Strike or no strike this person deserves to be in prision for all the pain he’s caused and the lives that are forever changed. Liberty was a servant to education. Erik Aguirre is just another dumb person out joy riding in the wee hours of the morning that killed someone special.

Thank you for the update, Jake. So relieved to hear that there is finally some sort of resolution. Rest in peace, Liberty
